Welcome to the website of Sycamore Grove ("Sycamore Grove," "we," "us," or "our"), located at sycamoregrove.org (the "Site"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Site. By accessing or using the Site, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

1. About This Site

The Site provides general information about Sycamore Grove's counseling and therapy services, including individual, couples, family, and teen therapy, along with related resources, workshops, and ways to contact us or request services. Nothing on the Site is intended to create a therapist-client relationship. A therapeutic relationship begins only once you have completed our intake process, been matched with a clinician, and both parties have agreed to begin services.

2. Not Medical or Emergency Advice

The content on this Site — including blog posts, articles, workshop descriptions, and general information about therapy — is provided for general informational purposes only. It is not a substitute for professional diagnosis, treatment, or advice, and it does not create a clinical or therapeutic relationship.

If you are experiencing a medical or mental health emergency, or are in crisis, do not rely on this Site. Call 911, go to your nearest emergency room, or contact the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline (call or text 988) immediately.

Submitting an intake form or contact form does not guarantee an immediate response and should not be used to communicate an urgent or emergency need.

3. Eligibility and Use of the Site

You may use the Site only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. By using the Site, you represent that you are at least 18 years old, or are accessing the Site on behalf of a minor as a parent or legal guardian.

You agree not to:

  • Use the Site in any way that violates applicable law or regulation

  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any portion of the Site, our systems, or our client portal

  • Interfere with or disrupt the Site's functionality or security

  • Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent information through any form

  • Use automated means (e.g., bots or scrapers) to access or collect data from the Site without our consent

4. Intake Forms and Communications

Forms on the Site (such as our intake form, contact form, or workshop registration) are provided so you can request information or services. Submitting a form does not guarantee acceptance as a client, availability of a specific clinician, or a specific appointment time. We will make reasonable efforts to respond to inquiries in a timely manner, but response times are not guaranteed.

Standard email and web forms are not a fully secure method of communication. Please avoid sending highly sensitive personal or health information through general contact forms; secure communication about your care will take place through your client portal once you are an established client.

5. Donations

If you make a donation through the Site, it will be processed by our third-party donation platform (currently Pushpay). Donations are subject to that provider's terms and applicable payment processing terms in addition to these Terms. Donations are generally non-refundable except as required by law or at our discretion.

6. Intellectual Property

All content on the Site — including text, graphics, logos, images, and design elements — is owned by Sycamore Grove or its licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may view and print content from the Site for your personal, non-commercial use. You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works from Site content for any other purpose without our prior written permission.

7. Third-Party Links and Services

The Site may link to third-party websites or services, including our client portal (SimplePractice), donation platform (Pushpay), or affiliated organizations. We do not control and are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or practices of any third-party site. Your use of any third-party site or service is governed by that party's own terms and policies.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Site and its content are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that any information on the Site is complete, accurate, or current.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Sycamore Grove and its officers, employees, and agents will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data or use, arising out of or related to your use of, or inability to use, the Site — even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Nothing in these Terms is intended to limit any liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
