Eye Candy Friday Archives

Here's Hoping

Last year, I was obsessed with my camera. I took pictures everywhere, and of everything. I've kind of lost that, although I'm trying to get back into it a little. I've been carrying my camera everywhere with me, but I often forget I have it. Maybe I'll write CAMERA! in big red letters on the back of my hand.

Anyway, In anticipation of spring (omg, get here already!), I've decided to post the following picture for Eye Candy Friday. I took it last April, on campus. It's one of my favorites.

As a button

This is Munchkin, Indiana Eponine's daughter. Isn't she adorable? She's sitting on Joy's lap, happily eating all of her pumpkin pie.

It's kind of an older picture, from November, but I love it. Munchkin's a lovely model, too, for a two-year-old. She grins on cue.

Eye Candle Friday

This picture was from my birthday party a couple of years ago. There were water glasses around a candle, and it just looked really cool.

I'm off the LaserTag tonight to celebrate a couple of my friends' birthdays. I have plans to kick the opposing team's collective ass. I'll probably have more to write about tomorrow. For now, though, I'm off.

Eye-Candy Friday.

Only a day late.

That's Nick in front of our apartment. We actually had a snowfall on Tuesday as well as Thursday evening, but I forgot to take pictures. I hope the snow stays through Christmas, or that we get more, but I'm not holding my breath.

Indianaeponine and I went down to Mass Ave Knits today, for a meet-up of the Indiana Knits Ravelry group. It was a fun time; there were more older ladies there than I thought there'd be. I guess I still fall prey to that "the internet is a young person's game" fallacy.

I met Chris of Chris Knits, and a bunch of other lovely ladies, including one girl (I don't know her internets name and I don't want to use her real one without permission) who will be moving up to our neck of the woods come late December. Eponine and I invited her to the knitgroup and I hope she comes. She seemed really nice.

I was really good and only bought a bit of yarn, half of which was actually for the Very Mysterious Socks. I'll post some pictures of the actual yarn (pics of the projects will have to wait until after Christmas) later. I also got some pretty cream-tan-lavender-and-sky-blue Tofootsies yarn to make into an eventual pair of socks for me.

And now, some J-random pictures.

My kitties, Finn and Bran.

Gratuitous cat photo

I'm trying to be better about Eye Candy Friday; I don't have any excuse now that I have the Camera of Doom.

Since I didn't really go out anywhere today, I give you yet another sleepy kitty picture. Somebody needs to smack me like a CD player so I can skip this groove.

...

He is so cute, though.

It's that time again...

In the interest of Eye-Candy Friday, I present to you this picture:

That, my friends is true beauty. One skein of Colinette Jitterbug, colorway Lapis, and one skein of Claudia Handpainted, colorway Sea Dreams. Eponine and I went to the lovely Knit Stop last Thursday, to celebrate a Munchkin-less Spring Break. Alas, the only reminder of that week is two (well, three, if you count the super-secret anniversary-sock yarn that I bought for Nick) sock skeins and a very clean house.

On a less fortunate note, I seem to have misplaced my wallet. The trouble with having a very clean house, is that it lack clutter. Wallet-hiding clutter that I could use to convince myself that no, I didn't leave my wallet someplace like a big moron, it has to be here Nick and could you help me look, please? But without the clutter, I end up going straight to the oh my god I can't find my wallet and I called everywhere and no it's not in my purse so don't look there place.

I did call around a couple places, and I've narrowed the list of places I might have left to to four: the Atrium (a dining area which, if I left it there, I'm fucked), the Bookstore (I called; they haven't seen it), Work (called there too, no dice) and Someplace Else. It's that last one that really has me worried. Because, see, I had my wallet when I bought food and sat down to eat. And then I moved into the bookstore to read a magazine. Then I went to work, and then came home. If it's not at any of these places, it must be Somewhere Else. And either I dropped it there, or somebody came and took it there.

I didn't have any money in it, but all my stuff was there; you know, license, insurance card (for me and the car), social security card (I know, you aren't supposed to carry it around. What can I say? I've never lost a wallet before), and all that jazz. I don't want to have to go get all this crap again.

Okay. To end on a high note, I have new knitting pictures. First, a shot of my progress on Twist. As promised, one sleeve complete (not blocked, just pinned out) and just nearing the halfway point of the other.

And I started a new pair of socks for Nick. I guess it isn't fair that I have a bajillion pairs and he only has three. It's the Oak Rib sock pattern from Knitting Vintage Socks.

What day is it?

Eye-Candy Friday, that's what.

Yesterday was the annual ArtsWalk, which is a yearly celebration of the arts in downtown Muncie. There are a disproportionate number of galleries and people involved in the arts here in Muncie. It's weird.

The BSU Fine Arts Club had made arrangements to have an area where members could set up gypsy booths and blankets to sell their artwork. So my friend Mary and I grab some of our stuff and set up on the sidewalk in front of the Chase building, which has tinted glass windows. Later on, our friend Candace comes and sets out some stuff on our blanket.

I ended up selling a bunch of my enameled jewelry and making about sixty bucks. Needless to say, I bought dinner.

(Why yes, yes I am wearing the Chocolate Twist. How kind of you to notice.)

It's that day again!

I had high ambitions of updating the blog every day in December. But about the only time I sit down in front of the computer is during my computer art class. The computers in that lab are set up to reject anything with a field and a "submit" button. So I can type all I want, but when I try to submit it, it's all "screw off."

So I'm trying to make up for it now. Today's Eye Candy Friday is brought to you by family Thanksgivings. This adorable little guy is Brenda's nephew. I'm not really comfortable with posting his name here, but homg, those cheeks! I couldn't resist.

So. Knitting. I'm currently making a pair of Clessidras in a cranberry heather yarn. They're lovely. I'm on the ankle decreases of the first sock. Unfortunately I don't have any pictures, or time to actually knit them. The end of the semester is pretty freaking nigh, and I have less than no time. In fact, I need to finish this up so I can go into the metals lab and get some shit done.

I'm also working on a commissioned hat, black with red skulls, to match a friend's favorite scarf. Again, no actual pictures, but I'll make sure I get at least one before I hand it over.

Planned projects? More than I can count. Finish Clessidra, make some leg warmers from my gray handspun, actually make that purple cloche I've had planned for freaking ever, start that periwinkle sweater, black handwarmers (I seem to have terminally misplaced my other ones), striped handwarmers, blue and brown striped socks.... The list goes on and on.

And, because one baby picture is certainly not enough, I'll leave you with this one, with his mama in the background.
